On the 49 th week, the situation in the Azov and Rostov ports the situation finally improved and vessels finally got the opportunity to leave the ports to carry out their voyages. Despite the improvement of weather conditions in Rostov, owners had problems with the passage of the Kerch and Bosporus Strait due to strong winds and bad weather. At the moment, the freight rate from Azov to the ports of the Marmara Sea for the transportation of 3000 tons of wheat is already reached usd 22 per ton.
Despite the significant amount of cargo from the ports of the Azov Sea to the ports of Turkey, many owners refuse to fix for short voyages, but prefer to find longer shipments before the New Year.
On 49th week, the freight rate from Astrakhan to NIP remained at the level of the previous week. The price for transportation of 3000 tons of corn from Astrakhan to NIP is usd 39 per ton. There are a large number of cargoes from Makhachkala and Aktau on the market, many charterers are ready to fix on consecutive voyage, however, owners are waiting for a further increase of freight rates and not in a hurry to fix on long-term periods.
